Dynamite Donuts @ Dynamo
Donuts are all the rage these days and we are happily on the donut bandwagon (bye-bye cupcakes). We love the Doughnut Plant in New York City and consider ourselves super lucky to have Dynamo Donuts right in our backyard. Another must-try on our list is Voodoo Donuts in Portland.
We often trek to Dynamo in the Mission for a fix of these very gourmet and unique donuts. Being in this part of the Mission and at Dynamo feels like taking a vacation in our own city. The little storefront opens into a large kitchen/workspace where you can watch the donuts being made. The wall behind the seats is lined with donut themed kids books. Who knew there were so many?

Grab a book and on a nice day head back to the patio/garden with the kiddos. The last time we were there, the sun was out in it’s full glory and it was a comfortably warm day. The bees and butterflies were buzzing about the garden and it was one of those days that makes you think, “Life is good. Especially, if I can sit in this beautiful back garden and share a kaffir-lime coconut donut with my favorite little person.”
Dynamo has some pretty unique flavors like bacon maple apple (haven’t gathered the courage to try this though I have heard it is fantastic), spiced chocolate (Ria liked this one) and cornmeal rosemary cherry, just to name a few. The flavors change daily and the toughest part is deciding which donuts to get because the next time you come, that particular flavor might not be on the menu.
I can’t wait to take Stacie and Luca to this little spot. It is right up Stacie’s alley and Luca is a dessert-eating machine and is going to love it!

Gosh you made my doughnut craving go even more crazier. Must find doughnut now.
Wow, that doughnut place looks fantastic!
We are big fans of Donut Plant too! We used to have this tradition of me taking my son there after his dentist appointment (I know — ironic, huh?), but since starting Kindergarten we can’t because he has to go to school afterwards. The Valrhona donuts were to die for!
Dynamo Doughnuts looks even better because of the nice weather and the amazing space!
I have a little dessert eating machine at home too! The donuts look really yummy!!
