An English Tea Sketchbook

Dartealing Lounge - San Francisco - A Little Yumminess

My mom recently treated me and the bambino to an English tea service at the adorable Dartealing Lounge in San Francisco. My mom reminds me of Simran in that she has a long list of things to do, and is one of those rare and impressive people who actually get around to checking things off. Whether it’s jet setting the globe with my dad, attending the ballet or symphony, discovering a new place to hear jazz or finding a cute new place for tea, my mom’s always got the scoop and is generous with her invitations.

The tea and sweets at Dartealing Lounge were delightful and we especially liked some of the fun and whimsical tea sandwiches, including a miniaturized take on fish and chips. So we sipped and chatted and nibbled, and it all rolled up into  one of those “isn’t life grand?” moments. Even the little guy seemed to enjoy himself, although I’m certain he would have much rather been playing in the mud somewhere…. but I have learned to never underestimate the power of “grandma time” and a few petit fours!

    • Thanks thanks (and yes I am lucky — my mom is the best!) For this I happened to use a cheap notebook from Daiso (actually my kindergartner’s notebook)– not in the least archival, but what happened to be in my purse which is how things usually go with me.
