There’s always hot sauce on our table and usually some sketching going on so it was only a matter of time before the two collided. Here’s a sketch by me, one by my hot-sauce lovin’ hubby, and two by Luca who won’t eat hot sauce, but will happily take its portrait.
I never thought much about the taste and texture possibilities of salt and pepper, but lately we’ve been experimenting with different types from Sichuan peppercorns to Portuguese Algarve Sea Salt. They’re winning us over and we’ll be reporting back soon! Got any favorite salt and pepper tricks or recipes up your sleeve?
At our recent de Young picnic, I made Giada de Laurentiis’ apple-mint punch which turned out to be super delicious. It’s summer in a cup: refreshing, not overly sweet, with a nice zippiness. The only problem was that I wished I had made more! I think doubling the recipe next time is most definitely in order and if you want to share with the kids, you can always substitute decaf tea.
